This chemist position is, 'the chemist' for the Company. In this role, you would perform daily evaluations of metals, such as identification, studying samples for fractures, identifying corrosion and evaluating new materials, all in a days work!
Use your chemistry knowledge to develop the analytical methods to evaluate, solve technical problems affecting quality and support new initiatives. Utilizing lab instrumentation to solve problems related to material properties, steel cleanliness issues and lubrication. Partner with metallurgical and engineering functions in situations such as failure analysis investigations needing a multi disciplined approach.
This Chemist will also be responsible for:
- Sustaining a strong focus on safety and controlling chemical waste correctly.
- Instrumentation maintenance, calibrations, and proper operation.
- Updating necessary Company databases and report writing.
Company is seeking a candidate who has completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and has prior experience in ferrous metals and strong chemical instrumentation, such as SEM, ICP, OES. Must be hands on and demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills.
