     Installation Organization

  • Make pre-installation calls to new customers within 2 days of receiving an Installation Survey from a confirmed machine order, otherwise contact the customer within 5 days of order entry if they have not returned the Installation Survey
  • Review "Water Test Results" within 2 days of arrival and recommend the proper water treatment to the customer for purchase
  • Take appropriate action regarding the Installation Survey answers to ensure the installation will meet all OMAX requirements  
  • Review the “Utility Document” with the customer to make sure all the utilities are understood and in place prior to traveling to a customer site for an installation
  • Work with the Service Coordinator and/or Field Service supervisor to schedule installations; finalize arrangements with the customer prior to the installation.  Confirm installation readiness 2 days prior to a technician being dispatched 
  • Provide technical direction to customers and OMAX Technicians for OMAX and MAXIEM table installations, repairs and troubleshooting
  • Review Field Installation/Machine Move reports and Post Installation Surveys and ensure that all follow-up items are satisfied
  • Create an action item list of known issues and work with the Customer Service Installation supervisor to develop an action plan to resolve the issues
  • Communicate frequently occurring issues to the installation supervisor for escalation to the Issues Tracking database

     Tooling Coordination, Calibration and Upkeep

  • Organize, test, recommend updates and be responsible for toolkit contents required for Field Service jobs, such as precision calibration kits, fabricator install tools, table calibration kits, laser alignment kits, etc.
  • Develop a system to track “Tooling Kits” from OMAX to customer site and to the next destination.  Inspect each tooling kit upon return and make sure it is complete prior to returning it to OMAX inventory
  • Maintain Customer Service tooling inventory location in an organized manner
  • Develop a tooling “Usage Matrix” to identify which tools are used on which machines, i.e. “which cantilever squaring fixtures are used on which machines” 
  • Organize and arrange the calibration of all required tools and lasers so that every tool in the Customer Service inventory is either properly calibrated or being calibrated
  • Work with the Field Service supervisors to determine strategic global locations to stage certain tooling (Asia, Europe, etc.).  Make arrangements with the appropriate distributor to house tools while maintaining ownership and responsibility for usability and shipment logistics 
  • Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the department director or supervisor


  • Minimum of 2 years in a technical position
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively with customers and department personnel, both internally and in the field
  • Good computer operation skills including all of the Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Strong technical systems aptitude with experience in aspects of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical/electronic controls
  • OMAX product knowledge a plus
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
